The Putting People First Agenda

Washington is one of the best places in the country to live, work, and raise a family. We believe innovation and hard work are the way to prosperity for all. Progressives are united in fulfilling that promise by ensuring everyone, whether white, black, or brown, has a shot at entering—and staying in—the middle class.

For too long, though, our state’s progress has been held hostage by powerful special interests. Our state’s investments in healthcare, housing, and education have been weakened, and our communities are suffering. The rising cost of healthcare makes it impossible for many families to get by. The cost of living across our state has grown so fast that many are struggling to keep a roof over their heads; even more are forced to live unhoused.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Washington can be a state where everyone shares in the prosperity our region creates. No exceptions.

That’s why we’re putting people first. We’re working to make sure that in our Washington, we have an economy that works for everyone – not just the wealthy few, thriving communities with healthy families, and a government that prioritizes ordinary people over special interests.
